Société Académique des Arts-Sciences-Lettres, Distribution Solonnelle des Récompenses 2023, Paris, France
On October 14, 2023, I was honoured to receive the Diplôme de Médaille de Vermeil from l’Académie des Arts-Sciences-Lettres for my more experimental work from the Landschaft and Nemophila series. L’Académie ASL was created in 1915 by René Flamant, a French language educator with a goal to recognize and promote individuals for their work that contributed to the “rayonnement de la culture” in the areas of visual arts, literary arts and sciences (in spite of the war at the time) with a vision of creating an arts and culture community that would continue “aprés guerre”. Today, ASL is made of a board of French and international delegates whose goal is to develop a society that eases cultural exchanges and networking between French and international artists, researchers and writers.
2023 art3f International Contemporary Art Fair, Strasbourg, France
Taking place throughout the year in 19 different cities in Europe including Paris, Luxembourg, Lausanne, Brussels, and Monaco, art3f started as a private initiative and takes on the art expo format: art exhibition and sale, as well as an opportunity for artists to meet and network with other artists, galleries and collectors. The Traversal series was showcased at the Strasbourg event March 31st to April 2nd, 2023. The fair itself included the works of over 150 international artists displaying art in the categories of painting, sculpture and photography.
Wayfinding
Where are we?
Where are we going?
And how will we get there?
Wayfinding brings together a group of ten artists, of varied disciplines and diverse practices, all based in so-called New Brunswick.
A result of the third installment of the Cross Cultural Creation Residency, Wayfinding is a partnership between ArtsLink NB, L’AAAPNB, and Mawi’art.

Creative Summer Residency at the Bruno Bobak Studio
Many thanks to the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation for the opportunity to participate in the Creative Summer Residency Program at the Bruno Bobak Studio, July 4-16, 2022. Details of the program can be found here. I am very grateful for the chance to have spoken with so many gallery visitors about their thoughts on environment, favourite maritime forest-scapes and the interesting dynamics of visually concealing and revealing this imagery. Thank you for your valuable insight!

Nemophila
Nemophila is a New Latin term, derived from two Greek words: nemos meaning grove or woodland and philein meaning “to love”. A body of local romanticized landscapes acting as an open book love letter to east coast hinterland.
